ELGIN, TX (06/26/2016) — Natalee and Billy Funderburgh died early Sunday morning after an intoxicated driver struck their motorcycle.
According to police, 45-year-old Billy Wayne Funderburgh and 38-year-old Natalee Jean Funderburgh (both of Bastrop) were killed in a motorcycle accident that occurred along Highway 95 near Elgin, Texas.
Authorities reported that at around 1:45 a.m., 38-year-old Rodolfo Campuzano was traveling southbound in a 2004 Kia Optima when he rear-ended a 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, occupied by the Funderburgh’s.
Both the Funderburgh’s were killed in the crash.
The Texas Department of Public Safety stated that Campuzano failed to control his speed. He has been charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter, and is being held in the Bastrop County Jail with bail set at $150,000.
This accident remains under investigation.
