Dallas, Texas — A 22-year-old man is dead, and his passenger injured following a early Thursday morning accident on Frankford Road.
The accident (which occurred at about 1:00 or 2:00 a.m.) occurred when, according to police, the driver was driving eastbound on Frankford when he lost control of his vehicle. According to reports, the silver Honda Accord ran over a median near Coit Road, snapped a guide wire and slammed into a utility pole on the south side 8000 Frankford in far north Dallas.
Tragically, the young driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. There are conflicting reports regarding the passenger. One report states that a female passenger was hospitalized with critical injuries, while another states that a male passenger was transported to Medical Center of Plano for minor cuts to his hand and ear.
Since this is a single-vehicle accident, it is very important that a thorough investigation take place. Was human error 100% to blame? Was there a malfunction with the vehicle? Had the driver been over-served alcohol at a local bar (which would open up the possibility of dram shop liability)?
