Dallas, Texas — According to reports, one woman has died, and two male passengers critically injured after an early Friday morning (11/08/2013) single-vehicle car accident.
The accident occurred in the 2400 block of southbound Stemmons Freeway (I-35E) near Wycliff Avenue at about 5:00 a.m. when, according to witnesses, the vehicle lost control and slammed into a tree located on the grassy median between the freeway and the southbound service road. Witnesses also say that speed may have been a factor. The victims had to be cut out of the vehicle with the Jaws of Life. The female driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, while the two unconscious and unresponsive passengers were transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Not much has been released about this terrible accident, but what’s puzzling me is why such a massive tree is unprotected from highway traffic. The tree is literally a couple of feet from the highway with no guardrail or any type of safety measures taken.
