VON ORMY, TX (07/01/2015) — A 1-year-old child was struck and killed by an 18-wheeler in a Pilot Truck Stop parking lot on Wednesday evening.
According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, a 1-year-old child was killed late Wednesday night after he was struck by an 18-wheeler in a Pilot Truck Stop parking lot located on I-35 and Loop 1604 in Von Ormy, Texas.
Witnesses stated that at around 10:30 p.m., a family from Laredo was in an 18-wheeler that stopped to get fuel. As the family’s 1-year-old boy ran through the parking lot toward the store, the driver of another 18-wheeler did not see the child and ran him over.
The toddler died at the scene.
Authorities believe this was an accident and do not plan to file charges.
