TERRELL, TX (09/16/2015) — William Edwards has died following a Wednesday morning highway accident involving four semi trucks and a car.
According to police, a multi-vehicle wreck—involving four 18-wheelers and a 2009 Nissan passenger car—left 66-year-old William Edwards, of Plano, dead on Wednesday morning. The accident occurred in Terrell, Texas on eastbound Interstate 20 near Spur 557.
Authorities report that the incident happened at around 10:39 a.m. According to Terrell Police Department Capt. A.D. Sansom. Edwards, “A white 2016 Kenworth pulling a load of tomatoes (driven by Gurwinder Singh 23 of Carteret, New Jersey) struck a black 2009 Nissan driven by William Edwards, 66, of Plano.” After the initial collision, the Kenworth 18-wheeler continued and struck three additional semitrailers.
The roadway was closed until 9:00 p.m. while police investigated the crash.
