One Dead Following 18-Wheeler Crash on I-30 in Fate, Texas

FATE, TX (04/18/2017) — At least one person has died, and two have been hospitalized, following an accident on Interstate 30 involving four cars and two 18-wheeler trucks.

According to reports, traffic was slowing on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 30 (near mile marker 75) when the driver of an 18-wheeler truck failed to stop and slammed into the rear of a passenger vehicle. The violent collision caused a chain-reaction crash involving three additional cars and one additional big rig.

Kyle Bradford with the Department of Public Safety has confirmed that at least one person in a passenger vehicle was killed in the wreck. Assistant Chief Simmons with the Fate DPS confirmed that two additional victims were transported to a local hospital.

At this time, there is no word on the condition of the two injured victims, and police have not said whether or not criminal charges will be pursued against the at-fault driver.

Commentary

While details are still limited at this time, rest assured that DPS officials are conducting a thorough investigation regarding this facts of this crash. While police have not said whether or not they’re seeking criminal charges against the truck driver, the investigation is far from over.
