The driver of a four door car is in the hospital after an early morning Dallas car accident left him seriously injured.
The driver, who has yet to be identified, was driving on I-20 in Parker County when he lost control. His car flipped and rolled, landing in the path of an oncoming 18 wheeler – which struck the vehicle again. Thankfully, the truck driver wasn’t injured.
Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the accident. Was there debris in the road? Did the driver hit an oil slick? Was fatigue an issue? We’ll have to wait and see.
Accidents like this are painful reminders to stay alert when driving on rural interstates – especially when it’s dark out. Often, drivers can feel a false sense of security because there are so few other commuters on the road with them. This may be why the NHTSA has found that rural driving is one of the deadliest kinds.
Take care when you are on a rural road – and especially when visibility is low. Drive safely, Dallas!
