LIBERTY CITY, TX (09/23/2015) — A multi-vehicle car accident injured Maria Borrego and her two children last Wednesday morning.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), 37-year-old Maria Borrego and her two children—a 3-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl—were injured following a multi-vehicle accident on September 23rd, which occurred in the 5000 block of FM 1252 in Liberty City, Texas.
DPS reported that at around 7:30 a.m., Borrego was involved in an accident with another vehicle. She exited her car with one of her children to evaluate the damage.
As she was standing between the two vehicles, a third vehicle (driven by 18-year-old Logan Davis) struck one of the vehicles.
Borrego was transported to Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, Texas via air ambulance (CareFlite). Both of her children were taken to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, Texas via ground ambulance.
Authorities stated that the 3-year-old boy sustained greater injuries, and was later airlifted to Dallas.
The other driver involved in the initial wreck, who was not identified, was not transported to the hospital.
