DALLAS, TX (07/01/2014) — A suspected drunk driver caused an accident after running a red light early Tuesday morning, critically injuring a 4-year-old girl.
The accident occurred just after midnight late Monday night/ early Tuesday morning at the intersection of Bonnie View Road and Tioga Street in southeast Oak Cliff. Police say that a man driving southbound on Bonnie View Road ran a red light and collided with an SUV carrying one adult and one child.
The 4-year-old female child was transported to Children’s Medical Center in critical condition. Both adult drivers were also treated for serious injuries.
Police say they do believe alcohol played a factor in the accident, and have said that they plan on filing intoxication assault charges against the suspected drunk driver.
