FRISCO, TX (04/18/2018) — A late night accident claims the life of a Plano man and seriously injures his wife while stopped in traffic on the Sam Rayburn Tollway.
Around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday evening, 79-year-old Calvin Baker’s 2006 Toyota Avalon was struck from behind on the Sam Rayburn Tollway, near Ohio Dr. in Frisco. Another accident at 121 and Coit had slowed or halted due to another accident at 121 and Coit. DPS highway troopers said that 40-year-old Krista Rogers of Prosper, for an undetermined reason, did not see the slowed or stopped traffic and struck Baker with her 2015 Toyota Sequoia. Roger’s vehicle continued moving north and also struck a 2016 Toyota Corolla.
Baker was pronounced dead at the scene and is passenger, Martha Baker was taken to Medical City Plano with Serious injuries. Rogers and the driver of the Toyota Corolla were not injured.
The case is currently under investigation.
