This has been a wild week for 18-wheeler accidents in Dallas. Earlier this week, the driver of a big rig carrying pet food died when the trailer flipped over a median on I-35. Roughly 24 hours later, a teenage boy was killed when the semi-truck he was a passenger in hit a support post on I-30. Most recently, a 20-year old woman was involved in a head-on collision with an 18-wheeler around 3 a.m. this morning after driving the wrong way down eastbound I-30 in Dallas.
Investigators haven’t released information about why the young lady was driving the wrong way. All that’s known is that at around 3:20 a.m., she plowed into a big rig, causing the commercial vehicle to jack-knife and spill diesel fuel across the freeway. The big rig operator was unhurt; however, the semi-truck crushed the lady’s car, trapping her inside. Emergency workers cut her out and took her to Baylor Medical Center, where she remains in serious condition.
Drive safely, Dallas.
