** IMPORTANT **
I talked to Kerry over at New River Fellowship, and she says there will be a prayer gathering at the church tonight (12/29/11) from 7 to 8 pm. Please try and make it out!
Four beloved teenagers were involved in an accident this morning outside Springtown. Two of them, Josh Brown and Alex Christian, passed away. The other two, Hoss McCue and Maddie Mitchell, are recovering from serious injuries at separate hospitals.
From what the Texas DPS has been able to gather, Josh was driving the group in his 2000 Dodge Ram along Midway Road. Just after midnight, the Ram lost control as it crested the hill near Hyde Away Lane. It plowed through several concrete posts and flipped into a mobile home, catching fire. Josh died in the crash. Alex, Maddie, and Hoss were able to escape the burning truck, but Alex passed away soon afterwards when the truck fire caused the mobile home to explode.
Hoss was flown to Parkland Hospital, and an ambulance took Maddie to JPS in Fort Worth. According to a post on the Praying for Hoss McCue Facebook page, Hoss will remain in ICU overnight and be moved out sometime tomorrow. Maddie’s current condition is unknown.
Alex Nicole Christian’s family is being surrounded by the love of their community right now. A thread on TexasBowHunter.com is filled with condolences.
These sort of accidents always take us by surprise. What appears to have been innocent joyride (no alcohol or drugs is suspected) has left a community in shock and families in mourning.
Thoughts and prayers are with you all.
