Local news outlet FOX 4 reports that investigators from the Department of Public Safety believe yesterday afternoon’s accident was caused by a tire blowout.
The SUV was outside of Van, Texas on I-20 when the blowout occurred. The family was headed towards the water park in Canton called Splash Kingdom. The Envoy had seating for seven but was overloaded with twelve passengers including ten children. Five of the children were killed.
No updated news so far on the condition of the other injured passengers from the accident.
