A 64-year-old man was critically injured when he was hit by an Arlington driver who then fled the scene of the accident. The hit-and-run occurred on January 14th at half-past one in the morning on N. Collins Street near Division street near the Quick Trip. The victim was in a motorized scooter when he was struck by the vehicle. No other information about the victim has been released.
Police believe the vehicle was a metallic blue General Motors sedan similar to a 2006 through 2010 Chevy Impala. Investigators believe the car will be missing the driver’s side mirror. Arlington police are still searching for the culprit. Regardless of the factors that led to the accident, the driver was required by law to stop and render aide. If and when the driver is apprehended, he or she could face criminal charges.
