Joshua, TX — 17-year-old Audrie Strickland, a junior at Wanda R. Smith High School, was killed late Saturday night (10/14/2013) after being stuck by a vehicle.
According to Joshua Fire Chief Wayne Baker, Audrie Strickland was riding her bicycle westbound on Cooper Lane at around 9:25 p.m. when she attempted to cross South Broadway Street. While going through the intersection, she was hit by a motor vehicle and very seriously injured. Strickland was CareFlited to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, where at 11:55 p.m. she was pronounced dead.
The family has said they will receive visitors from 6:00pm – 8:00pm on Wednesday (10/16/2013) at Rosser Funeral Home in Cleburne, TX. Services for Ms. Audrie Strickland will take place at 4:00 p.m. Thursday (10/17/2013) at Keene Seventh-Day Adventist Church, with burial to follow at Keene Memorial Park.
Unfortunately, as some of you may know, this is not the first auto-pedestrian accident in Joshua, Texas this year. There have actually been several similar incidents involving children, including one on September 6th and one on May 1st.
