Corinth, Texas — Former Liberty Christian head football head coach Mark Bowles was killed Sunday afternoon (10/20/2013) in a motorcycle accident on I-35E near near Post Oak Drive in Corinth, TX.
Police have reported that the 56-year-old motorcyclist crashed his bike for unknown reasons, and it is not known if any other vehicles were involved. Mr. Bowles was not wearing a helmet, and was critically injured. He was transported to Denton Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Mark Bowles was a well-respected figure in the Argyle, Texas area, and in the coaching community. He coached Liberty Christian from the early 1980s until his retirement in 2009. During this time he led the high school to three state championships.
Unfortunately for those close to Mr. Bowles, the police are still unsure as to what caused the accident. An investigation is expected to follow, and we would like to take this time to ask that anyone who may have information on this accident to call the Corinth Police Department at (940) 498-2017.
