Euless, Texas — 15-year-old Amari Darby was killed on Tuesday evening (11/19/2013) when he was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross W. Euless Blvd at around 6:10 p.m.
According to one eye-witness account, Amari Darby was struck by a vehicle in the westbound lanes of the 3000 block of W. Euless Boulevard, and the motorist did stop following the collision. Euless police say that currently, no charges are pending against the driver.
Amari Darby, an eighth grader at Central Junior High School, was transported first to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital H-E-B in Bedford, Texas, but was then flown to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth. He was pronounced dead at 10:19 p.m. Tuesday evening.
