Grand Prairie, Texas — Yesterday (12/01/2013) at about 2:55 p.m., 19-year-old Caitlyn Carlile was killed in an accident on the southbound frontage road of Highway 161 at SW 14th Street.
According to Grand Prairie police, Caitlyn (a sophomore at Sam Houston High School in Arlington) was riding in the back seat of a Ford Taurus driven by her mother Ann Carlile. Her sister Brittany Carlile was in the front passenger seat. Initial reports state that Ann Carlile failed to stop at a red light, causing a Chevy Tahoe SUV to t-bone the passenger side of the car.
42-year-old Ann Carlile and 19-year-old Brittany Carlile were taken by ambulance to Medical Center of Arlington with injuries which were said to be non-life threatening. Caitlyn Carlile was also transported to the hospital, but was pronounced dead at 3:18 p.m. The driver of the Chevy Tahoe was reportedly uninjured.
This is Grand Prairie’s 19th traffic accident fatality of 2013.
