Oak Cliff / Dallas, Texas — Three people were killed, and two others were injured following a Saturday afternoon (12/14/2013) car accident involving two vehicles.
The accident occurred near the intersection of Jefferson Boulevard and Rosemont Avenue in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas at around 2:15 p.m. Police say Jessica Barrientos was driving a white car (possibly a Ford Crown Victoria) down Jefferson Blvd., and may have been speeding when she lost control of the vehicle. The car rotated and struck the base of a light pole, then hit a black BMW.
Jessica Barrientos was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Also in the vehicle were her 23-year-old boyfriend Augustin Gatez Molina and his 66-year-old mother, Maria Elena Molina. Both Augustin Molina and Maria Molina passed away shortly after the accident. Augustin Molina reportedly worked at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, TX.
The driver of the BMW was carrying a passenger at the time of the accident, and both were hospitalized for their injuries. One of the victims has been treated and released, and the other remains in critical condition.
