Farmers Branch, Texas — Police say that 21-year-old Ivan Garcia Esparza, of Dallas, was speeding when he caused a fiery accident shortly before midnight on Saturday (01/11/2014).
The collision caused the deaths of two yet-to-be-identified people in a Jeep Liberty. Farmers Branch police say Esparza was driving a Ford Crown Victoria northbound on Interstate 35E when he struck the Jeep Liberty at the interchange with Interstate 635 (LBJ).
The Jeep burst into flames, trapping the driver and passenger inside. Ivan Esparza did not give aid, instead, he fled the scene. Police traced the Crown Victoria to Esparza, who was located at a nearby motel. Esparza blew a .271 BAC on the breathalyzer, and was arrested for intoxicated manslaughter.
