Dallas, Texas — 24-year-old Kiara Lewis has died following a Thursday morning (02/27/2014) car accident in Pleasant Grove.
The accident occurred just after 10:30 a.m. near Ann Richards Middle School at the intersection of Scyene Road and Prairie Creek Road. According to reports, a blue Chevrolet Impala was on Scyene and turning left onto northbound Prairie Creek Road, when it was struck by a maroon Dodge Durango. The driver of the Durango was traveling westbound on Scyene Road and reportedly ran a red light at Prairie Creek.
Rescue workers arrived to discover people pinned inside both vehicles. One adult female passenger was pulled from the Impala and taken to the hospital as a “CPR-in-progress.” Unfortunately, she passed away. The driver and a 2-year-old female passenger of the Dodge Durango were transported to the hospital in stable condition. The driver of the Chevy Impala and an additional 2-year-old female passenger were also taken to the hospital in stable condition.
A Dallas police spokesman has said that “Detectives are actively investigating the contributing factors for the collision,” and that “the intersection will remain closed for some time as they continue processing the scene.”
