Joseph Berry Killed in Sansom Park TX Motorcycle Accident

FORT WORTH, TX (10/18/2014) — One person has been arrested following a Saturday evening car accident which claimed the life of Saginaw resident Joseph Berry.

30-year-old Joseph Berry was riding his motorcycle through Sansom Park on Saturday when he was involved in an accident with another motorist on Jacksboro Highway, near Biway Street, at about 6:00 p.m.

Berry was critically injured and transported to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth. Unfortunately, he passed away Tuesday evening.

The other driver involved in the crash, Teodoro Estrada (of Arlington), was arrested at the scene of the accident and charged with:

  • Making a prohibited turn,
  • Driving without a license, and
  • Not having insurance.

Now that Mr. Joseph Berry has died, there is a chance that more charges will be filed against the at-fault driver when the case is turned over to the Tarrant County district attorney’s office for review.

Justice was not served. The driver is still out driving with no license, no insurance. Wonder how many more he will get away with. Two years later and it still hurts as it did that day. I miss joe so much.

I've known Joe Barry since I was 13 years old, just a young junior firefighter full of piss and vinegar. Joe was always a role model to me and helped shape me into the lieutenant that I became. Joe deserves justice and this person should be locked away forever,I would push for the prosecute attorney to charge driver for at least manslaughter. I know this won't make the family or myself feel much better, but an example must be made. My heart goes out to the family members of this brave fireman, he was one of Texas best. He was one tough cookie lol but had a heart of gold

This is my son. Justice will never be served until the driver is arrested and dies for taking Joe's life. He has caused a lot of pain with family and friends. I hope he never is released, to drive again.
