BIG SANDY, TX (05/28/2015) — Five students from Alba Golden ISD were taken to University of Texas Health Northeast Hospital after being involved in a school bus accident on Thursday in Big Sandy, Texas.
According to reports, five students from Alba Golden ISD were transported to the hospital on Thursday after their school bus was broadsided by another vehicle; The incident occurred at the intersection of Broadway Street and Pearl Street in Big Sandy, Texas.
Gladewater police stated that the accident occurred when a male driver pulled out in front of the school bus and sideswiped it with his vehicle. The school bus was carrying a group of first graders on their way to a field trip in Longview, Texas.
Authorities have said that five students were taken to University of Texas Health Northeast Hospital as a precautionary measure.
The driver who caused the wreck was not injured; however, he was issued a citation for the incident.
