DENTON, TX (06/06/2015) — A 22-year-old woman was killed, and a 5-year-old boy was seriously injured after a head-on collision in the 9900 block of Sherman Drive in Denton, Texas.

According to Denton police, a 22-year-old woman was killed and a 5-year-old boy was seriously injured after a head-on collision between their Ford Focus and a Honda CRV; the accident occurred in the 9900 block of Sherman Drive near Long Road in Denton, Texas.
Police spokesman Shane Kizer stated that 33-year-old Jorge Lugo Ochoa was driving his white Honda CRV on the wrong side of the road at about 55 mph when he crashed into the black Ford Focus head-on at about 10:00 p.m. Saturday night.
The 22-year-old woman driving the Focus—who has not been identified yet—was killed in the crash. Her 5-year-old male passenger suffered serious head and facial injuries; he was airlifted by PHI Air Medical to Cook Children’s Medical Center. As of Sunday, he remained in critical condition.
Ochoa has been charged with criminal negligent homicide and injury to a child; he is in the Denton City Jail on a $35,000 bond.
Police do not believe that this accident was drug or alcohol related; the incident remains under investigation.
