JACKSBORO, TX (06/29/2015) — A rollover car accident has left Rider High School student Sarai Perkins dead, and four others injured.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) officials, Rider High School student, 16-year-old Sarai Perkins, died following a rollover crash on Highway 199 in Jacksboro, Texas.
DPS trooper Tony Fulton stated that around 7:00 a.m. on Monday morning, Perkins was traveling eastbound on Highway 199 in a 2007 Scion with four other passengers, when she lost control of her vehicle at a left-hand curve and ran off the right side of the road; due to an over correction, the Scion rolled.
Sarai Perkins, a Rider High School student, was pronounced dead at scene of the accident. Police believe she was not wearing her seat belt at the time.
Three of the passengers were transported via ground ambulance to Faith Community Hospital in Jacksboro. The fourth passenger was flown (CareFlite) to John Peter Smith hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. The current conditions of the four hospitalized have not been made public.
