ANDERSON COUNTY, TX (07/09/2015) — A head-on collision killed 52-year-old Betty Louann Baugh and 24-year-old Thomas Walker Lee, and injured 23-year-old Brianna Harrison and 19-year-old Kalyn Glick on Thursday morning.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, two drivers died on impact following a head-on collision Thursday on Highway 294 near U.S. 79 in Anderson County, Texas.
Just before 11:00 a.m., Thomas Walker Lee, 24, was traveling westbound on Highway 294 in a black, 2012 GMC pickup truck when police say it appears that he crossed into the eastbound lanes and struck a white, 2014 Ford F-150, driven by Betty Louann Baugh, 52, head-on. Both Lee and Baugh died on impact.
Lee’s passenger, 23-year-old Brianna Harrison, was initially taken to the Palestine Regional Medical Center (PRMC); however, she was later flown to Mother Francis Hospital in Tyler, Texas. She is currently in the Intensive Care Unit in stable condition.
Baugh’s passenger, 19 year-old Kalyn Glick, was also transported to the PRMC, but she was later flown to East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. At this time, her condition is not known.
The investigation into this accident is ongoing.
