ANDERSON, TX (07/13/2015) — Teenager Daisy Fuentes lost her life, and Rolando Pineda-Fuentes and Andrew Walker III were both injured following a head-on crash Monday night.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), a head-on collision on Highway 90 near FM 244 left 16-year-old Rolando Pineda-Fuentes and 65-year-old Andrew Walker III hospitalized, and claimed the life of 16-year-old Daisy Fuentes just north of Anderson, Texas.
Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell stated that at around 8:30 p.m. Fuentes was traveling in a sedan along Highway 90 when she attempted to pass without sufficient clearance. The sedan then struck Andrew Walker’s pickup truck head-on.
Fuentes was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passenger, Pineda-Fuentes, was transported via ground ambulance to St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan, Texas with non-life-threatening injures.
Walker was taken to the same hospital via air ambulance (CareFlite) with serious injuries.
