STANTON, TX (07/21/2015) — A San Antonio man, 35-year-old Everardo Trevino II, was killed following a wrong way crash on Tuesday evening.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), 35-year-old Everardo Trevino II, of San Antonio, died after a near head-on collision along Interstate 20 six miles east of Stanton, Texas early Tuesday evening.
Reports state that shortly after 5:30 p.m., 30-year-old Luis Jonathan Orona, of Odessa, was traveling eastbound on I-20 in a 2013 Ford F-150 when he drifted left across the grassy median into the westbound lanes, and struck Trevino’s 2013 Hyundai Accent.
Trevino did not have time to avoid the collision and the two vehicles struck one another nearly head-on—left front to left front.
Martin County Justice of the Peace Judge Jarrell W. Hedrick pronounced Trevino dead at the scene.
The DPS stated that Orona is in stable condition at Midland Memorial Hospital.
