PLANO, TX (07/26/2015) — A single vehicle crash killed Alger Ben Baker III and seriously injured 18-year-old Daniel Payton Mushock early Sunday morning.
According to authorities, Daniel Payton Mushock, 18, suffered a severe leg injury after being involved in a single vehicle crash that occurred at the intersection of Preston Road and Tennyson Parkway in Plano, Texas.
Plano Officer David Tilley stated that shortly before 2:00 a.m. early Sunday morning, Alger Ben Baker III was traveling northbound on Preston Road when his 2002 Chevy Tahoe veered off the roadway and crashed into a traffic signal light pole.
Good Samaritans were able to get Mushock, Bakers’ passenger, out of the vehicle. However, the Tahoe became engulfed in flames before Baker could be extricated.
Mushock was transported to a nearby area hospital for treatment of a severe leg injury, but it is not considered to be life-threatening.
Police continue to investigate this crash to determine what caused Baker to veer from the roadway.
