AUSTIN, TX (07/24/2015) — Authorities have identified Telesfora Moran Fuentes and Naveli Resendiz as two of the victims in a fatal 18-wheeler crash on July 24th.
Austin authorities have confirmed that 46-year old Telesfora Moran Fuentes, 32-year-old Yesenia Nayeli Resendiz, and 11-month-old Camila Resendiz (all from Oklahoma City) were killed in a multi-vehicle crash that occurred in the 8200 block of Interstate 35, near Rutherford Lane, in Austin, Texas.
According to reports, the collision happened at around 1:30 a.m. on Friday, July 24th, when a stationary Chevy Silverado pickup truck occupied by six was rear-ended by an 18-wheeler at close to 70 miles per hour.
Fuentes and Resendiz were both killed in the wreckage. Camila Resendiz, who would have turned 1 year old on Wednesday, succumbed to her injuries on Sunday at Dell Children’s Medical Center.
Austin-Travis County EMS transported two other children to Dell Children’s Medical Center with critical injuries. Another adult in critical condition was taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge.
The female driver of the 18-wheeler was also injured in the collision, however, she is expected to recover.
This fatal crash remains under investigation.
