3-Vehicle Crash Hospitalizes Keith Myers in Wichita Falls, TX

WICHITA FALLS, TX (08/21/2015) — Keith Myers was critically injured after a three-vehicle crash on Friday night.

According to Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers, Keith Myers was critically injured on Friday evening after a three-vehicle crash on Highway 281 at Lake Creek Road in Wichita Falls, Texas.

DPS Troopers stated that a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Staci Lampe, rear-ended Myers’ 1999 Honda Accord which caused him to lose control of his vehicle and slide into the southbound lane of traffic.

After the initial impact, a GMC Yukon, driven by Charles Baker, struck Myers’ Accord.

According to police, Myers was transported to United Regional Hospital in critical condition. The passenger of the Yukon was transported to a nearby area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Lampe was arrested and charged with two counts of intoxication assault.

But according to the law, doesn’t that just mean the car behind him was following too closely? You should always have room to stop if the car in front of you slams on their brakes.

The reason Mr.Myers was struck from behind was because he slammed on his brakes from 75mph to the slamming on his brakes. It was an accident. Mr.Myers had no visible reason to conduct such actions. There were no side streets to turn on. There was no obstruction on the road such as an animal or debrees. Innocent until proven guilty. It is a sad event that could have been avoided if it weren't for Mr.Myers abrupt stop. He would have been struck from behind regardless due to his speed and uncalled for stop
