WOODVILLE, TX (09/05/2015) — A wrong way wreck early Saturday morning killed three people: Chris Walton, Taressa Walton, and Jarea Coker.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), a wrong way car accident along Highway 69 in Woodville, Texas on Saturday morning claimed the lives of three people: Chris Denise Walton, 39; her daughter Taressa Walton, 18; and Jarea Rene Coker, 57.
DPS stated that at around 6:15 a.m., Coker was traveling southbound along Highway 69 in a 2013 Toyota passenger vehicle when she crossed the center line and struck a 2015 Kia passenger vehicle, driven by Walton.
According to witnesses, Coker had crossed the center dividing line several times before the collision occurred.
Both Coker and Chris Walton were pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Trisher Ford.
Walton’s daughter Taressa, the front seat passenger, was transported to Hermann Memorial Hospital in Houston, Texas where she later died.
DPS Troopers believe that Coker was traveling home from work and fell asleep at the wheel.
This is fatal crash remains under investigation.
