LEWISVILLE, TX (09/09/2015) — Two children were struck by a car on Wednesday afternoon as they tried to cross a roadway.
According to police, two school-aged children were struck by a vehicle in the 800 block of South Valley Parkway in Lewisville, Texas near the Sun Valley Aquatic Center on Wednesday afternoon.
Authorities reported that at around 3:30 p.m., a 9-year-old girl and an elementary-aged boy were attempting to cross the street when they were struck by car. Both children sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
According to Capt. Dan Rochelle, with the Lewisville Police Department, the boy was treated at the scene. The girl was transported via air ambulance (CareFlite) to a nearby area hospital for treatment.
The driver who hit the children remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
