WACO, TX (09/13/2015) — A single-vehicle crash late Sunday night claimed the life of Jason Carl Sorley and injured Ayden Mathew McKenna.
According to authorities, a single-vehicle accident at the intersection Wortham Bend Road and China Spring Road late Sunday night killed 31-year-old Jason Carl Sorley and seriously injured 24-year-old Ayden Mathew McKenna in Waco, Texas.
Police reported that at around 11:58 p.m., McKenna was traveling westbound in a 2013 Scion (likely a tC) at a high rate of speed when he lost control at curve, the car hit a ditch, rolled over, and landed in a bank parking lot.
Sorley, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck, was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest Medical Center where he later died.
McKenna was wearing a seat belt, however, he had to be extricated from the vehicle. He was also taken to Baylor Scott and White, where he has been listed in stable condition.
Alcohol and speed are believed to be contributing factors to this fatal crash. An investigation is ongoing.
