BEAUMONT, TX (09/18/2015) — One person was killed, and another was injured after a driver ran a red light Friday evening.

According to the Beaumont Police Department (BPD), a two-vehicle accident on Friday night at the intersection of Highway 105 and Major Drive in Beaumont, Texas killed 37-year old Rodrick Calcote and injured 44-year old Jody Marshall.
Investigators state that at around 11:00 p.m., Calcote was traveling eastbound on Highway 105 in a white Ford F-150 when he failed to stop at a red light and was broadsided by Marshall, who was traveling through the intersection with a green light.
According to the BPD, Marshall was transported to a nearby area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Calcote was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
