SHERMAN, TX (09/25/2015) — Two motorcycle accidents over this past weekend resulted in one fatality and one serious injury.
According two authorities, two separate motorcycle accidents left 44-year-old Christopher Dewayne Stewart in critical condition and claimed the life of 53-year-old Samuel Ereckson.
Police reported that the first wreck occurred on Friday near the intersection of Park Avenue and Highway 75 in Sherman, Texas.
“On Friday [Stewart] was driving north on the control road, near Park [Avenue] and 75, and [Stewart] ended up striking a school bus that was crossing going east bound on Park [Avenue],” said D.M. Hampton with Sherman Police.
Stewart was flown to Medical Center of Plano where he has been listed in critical condition.
According to police, the second motorcycle crash happened in Sherman on Saturday near Highway 75 and Travis Street.
Samuel Ereckson reportedly collided with a Ford Expedition. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigations are pending for both wrecks.
“The critical accident investigation team is investigating both accidents,” said Hampton. “The final reports might not be ready for weeks until they get all the measurements and distances, and plug in all their formulas to find out if there were any other factors.”
