WOODSBORO, TX (10/04/2015) — Passenger Roman Vega was killed on Sunday morning after a single-vehicle accident in south Texas.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) identified 26-year-old Roman Vega as the victim of a fatal Sunday morning car accident in Woodsboro, Texas along Highway 77.
DPS Troopers reported that at around 8:30 a.m., the 32-year-old driver of a blue, 2011 Chevrolet Silverado fell asleep at the wheel, causing the pickup truck to crash and rollover.
Vega, who was in the passenger seat, lost his life in the wreckage.
According to authorities, the driver was flown to Corpus Christi Memorial Hospital, where he underwent surgery for injuries sustained in the accident. He is currently listed in stable condition.
An investigation continues for this fatal wreck.
