According to Dallas officials, an accident between an 18-wheeler hauling lumber and a passenger SUV killed two adults—including a pregnant woman—and two children on Monday morning.
Dallas police report that the accident occurred at around 6:30 a.m. along westbound Interstate 20 and the ramp to southbound Interstate 35E in Dallas, Texas.
According to Raul Reyna with the sheriff’s office, authorities are unsure what caused the collision; however, after the initial impact, the 18-wheeler’s gas tank exploded, causing the vehicles to become engulfed in flames.
“The victims were all in the vehicle, the secondary vehicle. The tractor-trailer driver did make it out okay,” Reyna said.
