TYLER, TX (10/07/2015) — A fiery accident involving an 18-wheeler and a UPS delivery truck killed two men on Wednesday night: William Harris and Adam Banicki.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, two Florida UPS employees, William Samuel Harris, 54, and Adam Ronald Banicki, 42, were both killed in a Wednesday night accident.
This incident occurred along Interstate 20 at FM 2015 at around 10:45 p.m. in Tyler, Texas.
DPS reported that Harris and his passenger Banicki were traveling along I-20 as a part of a team for long-haul movements. For unknown reasons, the UPS truck rear-ended an 18-wheeler, which caused the UPS truck to catch fire.
The driver of the 18-wheeler tried to use a fire extinguisher to get the two men out of the wreckage; however, he was unable to, and the men lost their lives at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
This fatal accident remains under investigation by local authorities alongside UPS.
