WEST, TX (10/18/2015) — Charges are pending against the 25-year-old driver who caused a Sunday night accident that left two women dead and three others injured.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), two 70-year-old women were killed on Sunday night after a two-vehicle car accident in West, Texas on I-35 at exit number 354 (near Marable Street).
DPS Trooper D.L. Wilson stated at around 10:30 p.m., a southbound van carrying five occupants was towing a flatbed trailer when a car—that had been weaving through traffic—rear-ended the van.
The impact knocked the van off the roadway, which then rolled into a ditch.
The elderly two women who lost their lives in the wreckage were not wearing seat belts at the time of the collision.
The other three occupants were wearing seat belts and only suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Police reported that charges may are pending against the 25-year-old driver of the car.
