TROUP, TX (11/04/2015) — A wrong way driver caused a major accident that injured Florentina, Yanaly, and Augistine Jaimes, and resulted in one fatality.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), 46-year-old Florentina Jaimes, 9-year-old Yanaly Jaimes, and 12-year-old Augistine Jaimes were all injured after their vehicle was struck head-on by a wrong way driver along Highway 110 near County Road 2186 in Troup, Texas on Wednesday night.
DPS officials stated that 48-year-old Terry Ivy was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Highway 110 in a 1993 Chevrolet Lumina when he struck a silver Toyota 4Runner, driven by Florentina Jaimes, head-on.
Ivy was flown to East Texas Medical Center (ETMC) in Tyler, Texas; however, he later died from his injuries.
The Jaimes family was taken to a Tyler hospital for treatment; their current conditions are unknown.
This fatal accident remains under investigation.
