ODESSA, TX (11/18/2015) — A wrong way driver caused a head-on collision that claimed the life of Socorro Palomo on Wednesday.
Odessa police have identified 56-year-old Socorro Palomo as the victim of Wednesday’s head-on collision in Odessa, Texas along Loop 338.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), a 2007 Jeep Laredo—driven by 32-year-old Edras Marquez-Rocho—was traveling northbound when he crossed into the southbound lanes of Loop 338 and struck Palomo’s 2004 Kia Rio head-on.
Palomo was pronounced dead at the scene.
Marquez-Rocho was transported to Medical Center Hospital where he has been listed in stable condition.
