ODESSA, TX (12/21/2015) — A three-vehicle collision involving an 18-wheeler killed Jessie Urias and Victor Vasquez on Monday morning.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers, a multi-vehicle accident killed two men in Odessa, Texas: 35-year-old Jessie Javier Urias and 22-year-old Victor Jimenez Vasquez.
DPS Troopers reported that around 11:15 a.m., 22-year-old Luis Saucedo Lopez was traveling southbound along FM 866 in a 2013 Peterbuilt truck when he failed to control his speed and rear-ended a 2012 Peterbuilt crane truck that was slowing down to make a turn onto Ranch Road.
The initial impact caused the Peterbuilt truck to veer into northbound traffic and collide with a Ford F-350 head-on, causing the pickup truck to catch fire.
Both occupants of the Ford F-350, Vasquez aned Urias, were killed in the accident.
Lopez was transported to Medical Center Hospital in Odessa; he is currently listed in stable condition.
