GRAND PRAIRIE, TX (01/23/2016) — A suspected drunk driving accident killed Lourdes Arellano and injured three others on Saturday.
According to police, 19-year-old Lourdes Arellano was killed following an accident that occurred at the intersection of Forum Drive and Saguaro Drive in Grand Prairie, Texas.
Authorities reported that Guillermo Romero was driving his vehicle along Forum Drive with Arellano and two other passengers when he lost control of his car, left the roadway, and struck a brick wall and streetlight.
Arellano was transported to Medical Center of Arlington where she later died from her injuries.
Officials stated that Romero and the two other occupants were taken to nearby area hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Police believe speeding and alcohol were factors that contributed to this fatal wreck.
An investigation and toxicology results are pending.
