DALLAS, TX (03/10/2016) — An unidentified man in a wheelchair was struck in a north Dallas crosswalk early Thursday morning by a drunk driver.
According to police, a man in wheelchair—who has not yet been identified—was struck in a crosswalk at the intersection of Belt Line Village Road and Preston Road in Dallas, Texas at around 2:15 a.m.
Authorities reported that 31-year-old Jonathan Robert Neal was driving while intoxicated when he barreled through the intersection and struck the man attempting to cross. Neal then struck a tree and utility pole before rolling over.
The man in the wheelchair was taken to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital for treatment of critical injuries. He is currently listed in stable condition.
Police arrested Neal and charged him with driving while intoxicated.
