One Dead, One Injured In Central Expressway Accident
As Fox News reports, one man is dead, another injured after they were struck by a car in McKinney, TX last night. Apparently, both men were walking on the service road along US-75. In the darkness, the driver of a Ford conversion van could not see they were in the street and struck both men, knocking them both into a nearby ditch.
Police are still uncertain as to why these men were in the road and have not filed charges against the driver.
** UPDATE ** Per The Dallas Morning News, the driver has been arrested, facing charges of intoxication assault and intoxication manslaughter. The pedestrians, it seems, were walking in the right lane after their truck had broken down. **
Jeff Rasansky, a Dallas car accident lawyer knows that it can be difficult enough to watch out for other cars when on the road, but encourages you to be on the lookout for pedestrians acting abnormally. You might have seen this story of a girl in Las Vegas who was jaywalking and struck by vehicle. When you are driving – in Dallas or abroad – remember, pedestrians can act unexpectedly! So watch out. ** UPDATE: And, please … don’t drink and drive. **
Drive safely, Dallas!
