CORPUS CHRISTI, TX (04/15/2016) — Motorcyclist David Gaona died after his motorcycle was struck by drunk driver early Friday morning.
According to police, 37-year-old David Gaona was killed when his motorcycle was struck at the intersection of Holly Road and Ayers Street in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Police reported that at around 12:10 a.m., Gaona was traveling on a 2011 Yamaha motorcycle when he was struck by a 2001 Dodge pickup truck—driven by 22-year-old Jesus Lozano Rivera—as he was entering Ayers Street.
Gaona was transported to Christus Spohn Hospital Memorial, where he later died.
Officials stated that Rivera attempted to leave the scene, but he was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle and incident involving serious bodily injury.
