WACO, TX (06/25/2016) — Marissa Morales and Sandra Castro, both pregnant, lost their unborn children and remain in critical condition following a single-vehicle accident on Saturday night.
Authorities have identified 22-year-old Marissa Morales and 33-year-old Sandra Castro as the victims of a drunk driving accident that occurred in the 900 block of N. 38th Street in Waco, Texas.
According to Waco police, at around 6:30 p.m., 46-year-old Jeffrey David Miller was traveling southbound in a 2015 Nissan Versa and was attempting to use his cell phone while driving.
Miller—who was allegedly intoxicated at the time—became distracted, veered off the road, and struck a utility pole. His two female passengers, Morales and Castro, were critically injured and lost both of their unborn children.
Police stated that Miller, Morales and Castro were taken to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center.
Authorities reported that Miller was charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter for the death of the babies and two counts of intoxication assault for their mothers.

The driver who caused this accident faces at least four serious criminal charges due to his reckless driving. From what the Waco Police Department has released, Miller appears to have completely failed in his responsibility as a driver, which unfortunately resulted in critical injuries and cost two innocent lives.
