ROYSE CITY, TX (06/29/2016) — A multi-vehicle crash on Wednesday morning killed three people: Victor Bovkoun, Guadalupe Garza, and Kevin Battise.
Authorities have identified the victims of a fatal 18-wheeler accident that occurred along Interstate 30 near FM 35 and FM 2642 in Royse City, Texas as: 53-year-old Victor Bovkoun, 38-year-old Guadalupe Garza Jr., and 56-year-old Kevin Battise.
According to Capt. Greg Welch, at around 7:00 a.m., the driver of a westbound 18-wheeler lost control and veered into the eastbound lanes where it collided with another 18-wheeler; among the wreckage was also a small passenger vehicle.
The driver of the passenger vehicle, Battise, was killed in the crash, as were both drivers of the two 18-wheelers: Garza and Bovkoun. At this time, it is uncertain who was in which tractor-trailer.
This accident remains under investigation.
