BAYTOWN, TX (09/03/2016) — A suspected drunk driver caused an accident that claimed the life of Cassandra Jimenez and injured one other person.
According to authorities, 20-year-old Cassandra Jimenez was killed in a two-vehicle crash that occurred at the intersection of Garth Road and Decker Drive in Baytown, Texas.
Police reported that at around 2:25 a.m., 23-year-old Raul Aaron Tadeo was traveling in a Chevrolet pickup truck when he struck a Chevrolet Camaro, driven by Jimenez.
Jimenez was taken to Houston Methodist San Jacinto Hospital, where she later died. Her passenger, a 21-year-old man who has not yet been identified, sustained minor injuries.
Tadeo—who was detained by a group of civilians at the scene—was arrested. Charges of intoxication manslaughter, resisting arrest, and failure to stop and render aid are pending against him.
An investigation is ongoing.
